Originally designed for one-way wireless distribution of TV service, due to DOCSIS technology MMDS has became a high-speed, two-way data medium recently.
DOCSIS offers a low-cost way to get a broadband connection to the Internet. It permits the addition of high-speed data transfer to an existing TV system network.
To implement a  return link at a base station one of channels 8 MHz wide should be chosen and CMTS (for example  Cisco uBR 7200) signal  should be supplied.
At the customer premise for implementing two-way path it is used a transceiver (for example TranSystem 2 way transceiver). It allows simultaneous TV
programming reception and high-speed Internet access. The figure shows the overall system diagram for MMDS Internet &Digital TV Network. Detailed network
capacity and RF planning is necessary to determine the optimum solution for a specific customer requirement.
